The new Gallo Nero website

logo Gallo Nero

To preserve a territory, its history and most universally known product you have to utilize the modern media able to present it best to an increasingly competitive global market. Starting from this premise the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium revamped its web space, transforming it from a showcase site to a multipurpose portal at the service of the millions of visitors that have consulted the consortium’s site to date.
“The new portal won’t be just a dynamic and up-to-date window on Chianti Classic viewable throughout the world but also a valuable tool for consortium members”, states Marco Pallanti, president of the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium. “A tool through which to communicate, publicize, simplify bureaucratic procedures, have timelier information and in general be able to count on constant updating, 24 hours a day”.
In fact, one whole section of the site is devoted to consortium members, who can also manage and independently feed the advertising pages dedicated to wineries. The structure of the new Gallo Nero website is divided into two main macro-sections: one more “static”, where you can find across-the-board information and material on the “Classico” world, and another in constant movement, hosting the new Chianti Classico Magazine, now a weekly rather than a monthly and featuring daily “newsflashes”.

Duccio Corsini’s restaurants

Duccio Corsini’s restaurant choises around the word. In April and May 2007 Duccio had dinner in the following restaurants. Let’s share the opinions.

In my opinion, the best Japanese restaurant in London. Contemporary atmosphere. The Italian sommelier, Alessandro Marchesan from Bassano del Grappa, succeded in matching extraordinarly the international list with the Japanese menu. In the list there are plenty of fragrant whites and soft reds and, most importantly, an extensive range by the glass – essential when you’re indulging in one of the tasting menus.

I had dinner in this italian restaurant at the end of april. Northern Italian cuisine and intimate atmosphere. A wonderful cellar: international and well mixed, about 1200 labels. For me wonderfull is not always equal to extensive enciclopedia wine list - that is easy, it means characteristic and personal and deep in vintages of some wines
That evening the amazing and great surprise was to taste a Castell in Villa 1975, Chianti Classico. It was not in the wine list and is one of the wines that contributed to the New Renaissance in Italian wines, together with Tignanello, Sassicaia, San Marco, San Leonardo. The sommelier – Mikhal- has been able to understand we were looking for something special. And, most of all, he got it!

Giancarlo Paterlini, owner and sommelier, is unique in pairing Italian sophisticated cuisine and wines, most of all Italian too. A Italian address in the States that makes us proud.

Back to Italy and talking about wines is impossible not to mention, the most important restaurant wine cellar in Italy. Giorgio Pinchiorri is seriously working on two wine lists, one international and one exclusively Italian, making them complete e exciting. I believe in being the most extensive and intelligent wine list in Italy. For me Is like going back to school each time and Giorgio is a fantastic teacher.

Alla Corte del Vino

Le Corti was born in San Casciano for agriculture and built to be admired. Our family has owned it
without interruption since 1427. Following recent restoration, the Villa has regained in full its twofold role as a farm estate and as a splendid stage on which commonly-held values and diverse experiences ntertwine. The present occasion is the Alla Corte delVino show and market, which brings togetherì Tuscany’s finest producers. Two activity-packed days that give the wine lover the opportunity to discourse on fine wine and food, to take part in tasting seminars and creative luncheons, and to purchase wines directly from the producers themselves, all taking place in La Corte, the heart of the estate. The guests who protect and promote high quality do so not in a common trade event, but in a context where that quality is born, and they thus prove themselves respecters of history and creators of culture.Which means, quite simply, to understand, and to offer to one’s emotions the means for even further understanding. We are about to celebrate the eleventh annual show and market, and like all the previous editions, it sets as its goal the shifting of the perception of quality wine from an item of consumption to an object of the intellect, from a luxury object to a cultural product.
In this fashion, we can showcase the important role of Tuscany, in Italy and throughout the world, in one of the world’s most prestigious fields. The more we commit ourselves to this path the more we will succeed in safeguarding the traditions of our culture and of our Tuscan land.

Wine Tastings and Tours of the Cellar

Le Corti Winery is a part of Prince Corsini’s estate, which has belonged to the Corsini family for over 500 years. Interesting guided tours of Le Corti offer a mixture of history, wine, olive oil and architecture, featuring the oldest and most beautiful olive oil stone press and jar store-room in Chianti Classico, the spacious and historic cellar, the impressive villa and a garden below. Visits reveal the underground passages of the cellar which was designed and built before 1600, alongside modern cellar facilities. Upon request it is also possible to visit the grand and majestic Villa sitting atop the winery with perfect examples of Italian architecture dating back to the Renaissance period, containing rooms full of historic treasures which overlooks the vineyards and the grounds featuring a delightful Italian garden.
